Wilson held Norfolk to one hit over three innings for Indianapolis before exiting with tightness in his right groin while warming up to start the fourth inning. The Pirates said it was a "precautionary measure" and that Wilson, Pittsburgh's No. 2-ranked left-handed prospect, will be re-evaluated on Tuesday.

Wilson threw 30 pitches -- 21 for strikes -- and allowed just one hit, a two-out single to center in the first inning by Jamie Hoffmann.

The left-hander is 3-3 with a 3.14 ERA in eight starts this season, with 41 strikeouts in 43 innings, including a game on April 29 in which he combined with Jose Diaz and Doug Slaten on Indy's first no-hitter in nearly seven years when the Indians blanked the Durham Bulls, 2-0.

The Fresno State alum was named the International League's Pitcher of the Week on April 30 and has held opponents to a .184 average this season.

Veteran Rick VandenHurk pitched five scoreless innings in relief of Wilson, holding the Tides to five hits for his first win. Matt Hague's sacrifice fly scored Gorkys Hernandez in the fourth for the game's lone run.

Norfolk's Steve Johnson took the tough-luck loss, allowing an unearned run on three hits over eight innings. He struck out eight and walked one.
